About the author

Sam Pakan has spent the last thirty-five years pursuing his passion of raising range-fed beef cattle and working with Quarter Horses. Operating the ranch he grew up on, his love of the land is equaled only by his ardor for great books and powerful stories. After receiving his MFA in Literature from WTAMU, he taught college freshman composition and senior-level high school English. He also wrote and edited for Accent West Magazine. In “A Bed in Sheol,” David Dremmer, the protagonist of the award winning “Jesse’s Seed,” continues to battle the darkness within amid the horrors of WWII, finally grasping the surety of a life with meaning and purpose.
