Description

A young captain by the name of Nathaniel Plum lands on the shore of an island ruled by its self-appointed king, James Strang, hoping to put the petty tyrant out of business. Soon, he witnesses scenes of torture, catches the eye of a beautiful woman by the name of Marion, and quickly finds himself imprisoned. Based on the real story of James Strang, the self-proclaimed heir of Mormonism who established his own fiefdom on Beaver Island in Lake Michigan, Nathaniel Plum is allowed a first-hand view of the total collapse of one of the most tragic American cults.
